In view of the varied human resources being used for the implementation of the NFLP, field and staff training programmes are periodically organized for all levels of staff. The Training Unit is responsible for addressing the capacity needs of staff through effective capacity building programmes to facilitate efficient delivery of the NFLP at all levels. Its mandate is to address the emerging training needs of staff, carry out staff performance appraisals and facilitate staff career development.

The Unit also coordinates volunteer facilitator training programmes. and undertake training programmes for zonal supervisors. It also organizes capacity building workshops for regional and district coordinators; conducts Trainer of Trainers (TOT) workshops for all levels of trainers and evaluates the training programmes of other units of NFED.
